Who Is Eligible for Global Mobility Visa UK?

Who Is Eligible for Global Mobility Visa UK?

It can be challenging to understand the ins and outs of the new Global Business Mobility Visa, particularly with 5 different overarching routes, but with professional advice, it is possible to navigate the application and successfully gain a UK visa.

The Global Business Mobility visa scheme has already proven to be a valuable part of an organisation’s global mobility to develop UK-based operations, and we at Synergy Immigration Solutions have supported many businesses and individuals to achieve their goal of setting up in the UK.

In this guide, we explain what the Global Business Mobility visa is, together with the eligibility requirement and the minimum salary for each subsection, and we introduce ourselves at Synergy Immigration Solutions and explain how we can help.

What is the Global Business Mobility visa?

The Global Business Mobility visa is made up of five sponsored work routes for overseas businesses looking to establish, develop or support UK-based operations. The organisations must want to set up a UK branch or already have that connection with their own or another business.

The Global Business Mobility (otherwise known as GBM visas) reform and expand on previous UK work and business visas and, since April 2022, has replaced the ICT visas. You may still see ICT being used, but this type of Visa is no longer valid, and the correct visa to refer to is the Global Business Mobility.

Global Business Mobility Visa routes

Five separate global business mobility routes correspond to different temporary work assignment types, including:

Global Business Mobility visa validity

Global Business Mobility visa validity

So, how long is the GBM valid? This question is difficult to answer directly as with each of the 5 routes, there is a different validity time, meaning that each of the 5 subcategories of the Global Business Mobility visa allows you to stay in the UK for different times. The minimum amount of time is 12 months after the contract begins, some you are able to extend for another year, but the longest time you can stay in the UK on a Global Business Mobility visa is 5 years.

To extend your Visa, it is best to seek professional advice to increase your chances of being accepted. Additionally, Global Mobility doesn’t lead to ILR (indefinite leave to remain), but you can switch to a different visa with a direct route to settlement in the UK, should you wish to make your move more permanent. Again, getting professional advice from Synergy Immigration Solutions gives you the best chance of success.
