What Is a Global Talent Visa?
Formerly called the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa, this visa is now referred to as the Global Talent Visa UK instead.
A Global Talent Visa is a legal document which allows talented individuals in specific sectors to work in the UK. It replaces the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa.
You can be eligible for the visa if you are a leader or potential leader in one of the following fields:
- Academia or Research
- Arts and Culture
- Digital Technology
The Global Talent Visa allows you to stay in the UK for up to 5 years at a time. You can apply to extend your visa for up to 5 years at a time.
How to Apply for UK Global Talent Visa?
You apply online for a Global Talent Visa. It costs £623 to apply.
You will also have to pay the immigration healthcare surcharge (IHS) as part of your application.
You will usually hear back with a decision within 3 weeks.
Can I Bring My Family With Me to the UK With a Global Talent Visa?
You may be able to bring your partner and children with you to the UK as your ‘dependants’– you must apply for them separately and provide evidence of your relationship.

Who Is eligible for the UK Global Talent Visa?
The requirements for the Global Talent Visa are as follows:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be endorsed by an endorsing body to apply for this visa. Click here to view the list of endorsing bodies.
- You will need documents to prove your identity. For example, such as a current passport and valid travel documents.
- You will need a valid endorsement letter from an endorsing body that is recognised as an expert in your field.
- You must pay an endorsement fee.
- If applicable, you will need your tuberculosis test results.
- You must provide any other supporting documents that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) asks for.
Can a Global Talent Visa Application Be Rejected?
Applications for a Global Talent Visa can be rejected. This may be because your Global Talent Visa endorsement is refused. if this happens, you can apply for an endorsement review.
