I was born in South London and I am the daughter of two immigrants who found a home and future in England. I therefore have an understanding of the struggles of resettling and living as an immigrant. It has been a life-long ambition to support people like my parents to follow their dreams for a better life for their family.
I graduated from Lancaster university with a 2:1 degree in Criminology, which led me to have 10 years experience of working with prisons and probation service as a Head of Services. During this time I was responsible for managing several contracts and leading on the prison security clearance project which involved processing forms so staff and volunteers could enter prison, I am proud to have had a 100% success rate. After leaving this I was Head of Excellence at a charity which supported the voluntary sector, I was the strategic lead for their quality standards, supporting charities to make improvements in the way they work to safeguard their future.
I therefore have over 16 years experience of working in the voluntary sector and I am passionate about helping people to achieve their goals.
In my free time I love to travel the world and when that’s not possible reading, watching films and spending time with family and friends.
